Goldfields Jet

Goldfields Jet has been operating within the Kawarau Gorge since 1991 and has safely carried thousands of people on one of New Zealand’s most spectacular high volume rivers. Based at Goldfields Mining Centre in the Kawarau Gorge in the Central Otago region of New Zealand’s South Island, we are a 40 minute drive from Queenstown. From our base the trip goes into the shallow braided waters of the Bannockburn arm, then into the spectacular Kawarau Gorge – where the river narrows and rapids begin to form – stopping at the foot of the mighty Staircase Rapid before returning to Goldfields Jet base and finishing with our unique 360-degree spin. The trip includes an extensive commentary on the history of the area and other points of interest.
